Our restoration treatments will protect your teeth, help to maintain their strength, and thanks to the tooth-coloured materials used, give you the confidence to show off your smile.
Often thought of as the middle step between a filling and a crown, inlays and onlays are effective ways to repair large areas of teeth that have been broken, decayed or fractured.
At Keppel Dentistry we also offer cutting edge CEREC technology so we can create and fit your bespoke treatment in the same day.
Tooth-coloured inlays and onlays
If a damaged or decayed tooth requires a larger repair than a filling, but a full crown is not considered suitable or necessary, an inlay or onlay is a great option. Inlays cover the central part of the damaged tooth, but do not cover the pointed areas or cusps. An onlay covers a larger area, which will include at least one cusp.
Unlike crowns, inlays and onlays require much less preparation of the tooth, which will help to maintain as much of the natural structure as possible.
We use tooth coloured materials to ensure that your restoration treatment is discreet and aesthetically pleasing, leaving you free to eat, talk and laugh with confidence.
CEREC – same day technology
We understand that for many patients, time is in short supply. By offering CEREC technology we can create a range of restoration treatments quickly and easy, meaning teeth can be repaired and protected in one visit.
The process involves taking photos of the damaged tooth, which is converted into a 3D virtual model on the screen. Your dentist will then use the CEREC technology to design your bespoke restoration solution, and sends the specifications to our milling machine.
Your dentist will carefully select a ceramic block that matches your tooth shade, which the CEREC machine sculpts to fit the dimensions specified. With around 20 minutes your new restoration solution is ready to be securely bonded to your damaged tooth.
