CEREC is a state-of-the-art procedure offering patients the opportunity to have custom created crowns in a single appointment.

Your dentist here at Keppel Advanced Dentistry, Sutton, will take a digital image of your tooth as opposed to creating an mould. As there is no need to send the mould off to a dental laboratory, the treatment can be carried out in a single day. A 3D model of your tooth will be created from the digital image which will act as a guide for your dentist when they come to designing your crown. We have a milling machine at the practice that will craft the crown, turning a high quality piece of ceramic into a fully custom crown that fits perfectly amongst your existing teeth in both colour, shape and structure.

  • With CEREC crowns, all aspects involved in the treatment are completed over a single visit; this includes impressions of your teeth being taken, designing the tooth, finishing touches and the fitting process. You can even see your new composite crown being made in the milling machine while you wait in reception.
  • Only one set of local anaesthetic injections are necessary. This is particularly good news to the ears of nervous patients, who do not need to worry as these are over and done after a single appointment.
  • Everything is done in-house – here at Keppel Advanced Dentistry we value the personal touch and understand that it can be worrying when a dental laboratory has influence over a patient’s treatment despite not having met them. The entirety of the treatment is carried out onsite and solely by your dentist who will have a strong grasp of your expectations and knowledge of your smile and dental health.
  • No need to have a temporary crown fitted.

CEREC crowns have a survival rate of 90% after 10 years and if properly cared for, they can last a lifetime. If you are unsure about how to maintain good oral and dental hygiene, please ask your dentist at Keppel Advanced Dentistry who will be happy to advise you on brushing and flossing techniques.
