To Floss or not to Floss?

Flossing, a great habit to get into.

At Keppel Advanced Dentistry in Sutton, Surrey we have an experienced and passionate team. We want you to look after your teeth and gums for a lifetime. A consistent oral health routine is an essential part of this. One routine that people can find more difficult is flossing. When we are getting ready to go to work or got to ed, a cursory brush can sometimes be all we can have enough patience for. It is important to dedicate time to proper brushing and flossing, you will be grateful in the long term.

Dental floss comes in a few varieties, some on a wheel you can pull and cut off, some ready attached to a harp like in the picture above. What flossing does is better clean and remove the trapped food between your teeth than any tooth brush. It may feel a little awkward at first, if you are in doubt our dental hygiene team can talk you through proper flossing. Most floss is covered in a very thin layer of wax, this makes the process smoother and more easy. Like the difficult moment someone points out that you have spinach between your teeth, being able to remove it is both good for your health and your smiling.

Best wishes
